Kau Kau Club, the rider-friendly sea school!
The strengths of the Kau Kau Club are definitely the extraordinary location and the multidisciplinary course offer. The school is located on the beach of Fiumaretta, next to the mouth of the River Magra, a naturalistic area halfway between the picturesque Versilia and the beginning of the splendid coastline that forms the Cinque Terre. The sandy shore, the vegetation of the Magra Park close to the beach and, above all, the north-westerly winds that blow throughout the season reinforced by the local thermal create an uncontaminated, relaxing environment for water sports.
A channel in and out of the beach ensures safe rider traffic at all times during the bathing season. The mistral wind blows perfectly across the launch channel, making the offshore exit easy for both Wing Foil and Windsurfing. The school uses state-of-the-art equipment to facilitate learning the disciplines. For experienced riders, we provide high-performance boards and sails that are up to date. The brands you will find are RRD and Duotone, for Windsurfing and Wing Foil, Fanatic for Funboards. There is also room for surfing enthusiasts of all ages, who at the Kau Kau Club can take advantage of the experience of the instructors as well as the fun and accessible wave conditions that form right in front of the school during swells. Finally, there is also plenty of room for Stand Up Paddle enthusiasts who will find traditional lessons here combined with Yoga, Pilates and plenty of opportunities for events and excursions along the coast, in particular crossing the river mouth and sailing close to the beautiful cliffs of Montemarcello or the stretches of sea off Punta Bianca, Punta Corvo and Carciofaia.
The school’s facilities offer ample space to practice the disciplines, a chill out area for waiting and relaxing after lessons, changing rooms, showers and lockers for guests.
In short, at the Kau Kau Club those who love the sea and water sports is not only welcome but immediately feels at home, surrounded by competent instructors who are first and foremost great enthusiasts who after so many years don’t want to stop having fun and teaching a love of sport, respect for nature and the beauty of freedom that only someone who has climbed on a board can understand. In this paradise far from the noise of the city, whether you are a kite or windsurfer, wave seeker or sup enthusiast, sailor or enthusiastic rider, you will all find something for everyone.

The school is located within the Arcobaleno establishment, which offers sunshades, sunbeds and private parking during the summer season (1 May to 30 September). For those who do not wish to use it, there is the possibility to park in the village of Fiumaretta or on the coast road and walk there in 5 minutes.

PAOLO BEDINI
FIV certified instructor of Kitesurfing and CSEN certified instructor of Wing Foil Ready to go on any kite trip he is offered, he enjoys sharing this passion with more people and transmitting, through teaching, the enthusiasm that makes him appreciated by all his students.
FEDERICO CASTAGNA
A founding member and Wing Foil instructor with CSEN certification, he is now dedicated to the educational and bureaucratic improvement of the company.
A great fan of ice cream, he will certainly know how to recommend the right summer croissant for you!
MAURIZIO GRASSI
Team creator and founding member of the KAU KAU SCHOOL. Thanks to the good collaborators he has surrounded himself with, he can devote himself to his great passion for the sea and whatever slips on it. Lately he can be seen offshore performing incredible Wing Foil stunts.
MARTINA FERRARI
She is the talk of the school. She holds an I.S.A. surfing and SUP licence and a CSEN licence as a Wing Foil instructor. Put on the board at the age of eight by dad Carlo, she has never been able to get off again!!! Her passion for teaching and long winter surf trips have enabled her to make these sports a real lifestyle. She loves perfect conditions, the sea and it is virtually impossible for her to miss a wave surfing outing or a party.
CARLO FERRARI
Founding member, tireless surfer. He was the school’s first instructor and today is rarely present in teaching activities, but if you meet him he will always know how to give you the right advice.
