SURF SCHOOL

Surfing is more than just a sport: it is an inner journey, a continual attempt at self-improvement, searching for the perfect wave, the perfect balance, searching for an instant so intense that it seems eternal, however fleeting.

The Kau Kau Club is a Federal Surf and Sup School recognized by the FISW (Italian Water Ski and Wakeboard Federation).

• How does it work ?

Group lessons are divided into beginner and advanced course, so we can accommodate from the neophyte to those who have already taken their first steps in surfing and want to improve their technique.
There is also the option of private lessons, for an individual, focused course.

The course aims to teach:

• Board parts and surfing
• Knowledge of the spot
• Paddling/remote
• Take off/get up on the board
• Overcoming breakers by taking advantage of the current
• Wipeout/ falling into the water
• Wave reading, choice and timing
• In-water behavior and precedence
• Back and Front Side
• Reading weather reports

• When does it take place ?

Our surf courses take place in Fiumaretta di Ameglia and along the coast to Marina di Carrara on days when the sea permits. The waves in fact in Italy are not there every day, but the sea is activated with small or large swells that create surfable waves.
However, the frequency and quality of waves is high on our coast and suitable for all levels.
Depending on the level reached, our instructors will choose the appropriate spot to optimize learning the discipline.
Classes last an hour and a half to cover both theory and warm-up and practice in the water.
